Speedgate's Unaffiliated Show Jumping Results
Sunday 3rd June 2018

Our third show jumping show of the season saw a fantastic turnout of regular and new competitors. With the sun shining, we got the days competitions underway starting with the Intro class.

Paige and her young pony Cody set the standard of the competition with a lovely double clear in a time of 30.47 seconds. A little further in to the competition it was the turn of Charlotte and the consistent Skeehan Silver Fox, who produced a text book double clear and took over the lead. Sadly, Charlotte's lead was only to be a short one, as Ruby Whan and the super fast Sir Tristan meant business from the off. With the pair skimming nearly six seconds off Charlotte's time, Ruby was to be the winner of the first class.

Intro Class
1st Ruby Whan and Sir Tristan
2nd Charlotte Thomas and Skeehan Silver Fox
3rd Paige and Cody
4th Roo Watson and Dun Fury
5th Lucy McCarthy and Secret
6th Becky Cavell and Arthur

The Novice class was also going to prove to be a very strong class. With a lot of double clears being produced, it was all about riding carefully but quickly around the jump off section. The difference in the timings between second and fifth place were less than half a second, so the top placings were very close indeed. With two rides in the class, Ruby Whan produced a cracking double clear on her second ride Two Tone to take the top two placings in the class.

Novice Class
1st Ruby Whan and Two Tone
2nd Ruby Whan and Sir Tristan
3rd Emily Swain and Magic
4th Catherine Heasman and Sweep
5th Megan Palmer and Love Lola
6th Hannah Bridges and Classiebawn Silver

Once again there was a good turnout for the Intermediate class. Chanice Wilson and her consistent partner Star set the standard of the class with a very nice double clear. Next to go was Sharnie Whymark and her lovely chestnut horse Mountain Blaze. The duo produced a lovely double clear in a very quick time, but it was just not quite quick enough to catch Chanice, so finished in fourth place. Towards the end of the class it was the turn of Rachel Andrews and her gorgeous gelding Dun & Dusted. This duo were not going to be hanging about, and by producing a lovely and accurate double clear, they were to take the third victory of the day.

Intermediate Class
1st Rachel Andrews and Dun & Dusted
2nd Chanice Wilson and Star
3rd Phoebe Swain and Magic
4th Sharnie Whymark and Mountain Blaze
5th Catherine Heasmand and Sweep
6th Natalie Beckham and Roland

The final two classes of the day were the Open classes, and only four combinations managed to gain double clears in the Small Open. The first of the double clears was produced by Kris Dabner, and his lovely horse Vogue. Other double clears were produced by Amber Matthews and Sharnie Whymark. But the winning round was produced by Daisy Phillips and the lovely coloured horse Causeways Quizz Master.

Small Open
1st Daisy Phillips and Causeways Quizz Master
2nd Amber Matthews and Iceford King
3rd Kris Dabner and Vogue
4th Sharnie Whymark and Mountain Blaze

A lovely first round was produced by Meghan Cole and Calla in the Open class. Sadly, with a pilot error in the jump off, this meant elimination for the duo. With only one double clear achieved in this class, the final victory of the day went to Amber Matthews and her lovely partner Iceford King.

Thank you once again to everyone that competed and supported the show. Congratulations to all our deserving winners. Photographs were being taken on the day and can be viewed/purchased by visiting https://stavros-sports.instaproofs.com/gallery/#events/1585029

Our next Show jumping event is Sunday 8th July, where there is still a chance to qualify for The Sunshine Tour at Hickstead.
