Sam says:

“This past winter Grace began losing weight quite rapidly, but being our first winter together I assumed she was just a poor doer during the colder months and began upping her feeds. However, she continued to lose weight so I decided to call the vet to be safe and we had bloods taken. The results showed that she had an aggressive liver infection, and after talking with my vet we decided the best course of action was to alter her diet and give her six weeks. I decided to give her Saracen Re-Leve as it has low starch and sugar levels so not to aggravate her Cushings, and the super fibres make it highly digestible. The main aim of these six weeks was to put on weight in the hope she would be able to fight the infection without too much medical intervention.”

Results

“I was advised to feed Grace two Stubbs scoops a day of Re-Leve, as well as Dengie Hi-Fi Senior and Milk Thistle (as recommended by the vet). At first Grace was not very keen on the taste, which was not a surprise as she can be very picky, however after talking to Nic from Saracen she recommended feeding it dryer as the blackberry flavouring seeps in to the water and can make the feed very bland. We had no issues after this and after a week she was being fed the full amount. I kept photo updates throughout the whole trial and the improvement in her condition was huge, she looked more alert and her coat condition improved drastically. A month in I began riding her again to start working on her topline. I’m really pleased with how far Grace has come, we recently completed the Ride for Life and are looking forward to some shows this summer!”

“I would 100% recommend Saracen Re-Leve especially for horses that have Laminitis, Cushings or EMS and need condition. Because it is so high in superfibres it did not fizz Grace up, which made bringing her back into work much easier after so long off. The feed is very versatile and would suit almost any horse from youngsters to veterans as well as those in different workloads.”
