Our fourth unaffiliated dressage show of the season took place on Saturday 11th June. With a good number entries we got the day underway with an Intro PYO class.
Pick your own classes mean that the riders have a choice of two different tests, and the competitor may enter one or both tests. At the end of the two tests being completed, the placings are then based on the highest percentage gained overall across the two tests.
Riding the Intro A section of the class, Frey Shields was our first rider of the day to head down the centre line. Nicole Webber was our next competitor to ride the same test. They delivered a lovely test to gain a great score of 68%. This combination had a long wait until both tests had been ridden, before they found out that they were our first winners of the day.

6th – Marcus Beavis and Hugustus the Great 58.04% (59)
The next test was Prelim 7 and we started the class with Charlotte Thomas and her horse, Annaghmore Boom Lightyear. This partnership finished on a good score to gain them a placing. As the class progressed, it was the turn of Christine Allen and C’Amour D’Athena. The combination completed a wonderful test to finish on a score of 70.23% and was enough to be our second winners of the day.

3rd – Marcus Beavis and Hugustus the Great 62.27% (62)
4th – Rosie Pease-Walker and Classic Top Chances 59.32% (61)
5th – Barbara Francis and Freddie 59.32% (60)
6th – Charlotte Thomas and Annaghmore Boom Lightyear 57.95% (59)
Prelim 12 followed and it was Claire Wheeler and Vorvas Hill Aurora, who were the first combination to head down the centre line in this class. Finishing on a score of 64.07%, gave them a top three placing. Towards the end of the class, it was the turn of Abi Moore and the smart Coednewydd Kansas Express. This combination produced a fantastic test to achieve a score of 70.93% and took the third victory of the day.

The final class of the day was once again a PYO class and this time it was two Novice tests. With both the Novice 24 and 28 tests completed, it was Emma Clarke-Smith and her lovely horse Griffin S, who became our final winners of the day.
