Our second show jumping show was held on Saturday 25th June and the weather was kind to us. Entries were a little quiet, but all our competitors were keen and ready for some show jumping fun!
Aimee Simmonds and her lovely, coloured pony Keelogs Boy were the first to get us going in the mini class. They jumped a lovely double clear round in a good time. Lyla Moore was next to go with Paddy, who was not going to make it easy for Lyla. Nevertheless, they completed their round still smiling and the first victory of the day, went to Aimee.
Mini Class
1st – Aimee Simmonds and Keelogs Boy
2nd – Lyla Moore and Paddy
Next, we had the Novice class and sadly no combination made it into the jump off. We had two riders that were both on four faults, so we decided to put them through the jump off, so that a winner could be decided. The first of these riders, was Frankie Dove and the lovely Champ. They were clear after fence three, where they then needed to make a sharp left turn to the next fence. Frankie was on target to make this turn, but unfortunately Champ had other ideas and so they had to turn a circle, which meant that they picked up four faults.
Charlotte Tasselli Arnold was next up, with her beautiful horse, Aquartz. This pair jumped a very quick round and although they had a small navigation problem, it was soon resolved to finish clear and to take the second victory of the day.
Novice Class
1st – Charlotte Tasselli Arnold and Aquartz
2nd – Frankie Dive and Champ
3rd – Aimee Simmonds and Keelogs Boy
The Intermediate class followed and only three riders made it into the jump off section of the class. Towards the end of the class, Eve Maher and her grey horse, Dunally CoCos Boy entered the ring. Producing a lovely round, they entered the jump off section of the class, and all was looking promising. However, as they reached the last fence, they just rubbed the pole and they finished on an unfortunate four faults. Last to go in the class, was Emily Steadman and her horse Hector. Together they produced a lovely double clear, in a good time and so became our winners.
Intermediate Class
1st – Emily Stedman and Hector
2nd – Eve Maher and Dunally CoCos Boy
3rd – Charlotte Tasselli Arnold and Aquartz
The last class of the day was the Small Open and only Eve and Emily made it into the jump off. Emily and Hector had an unlucky pole at the second to last fence and so finished on four faults. Eve Maher and Dunally CoCos Boy were our last combination to jump, and they did not disappoint. Producing a wonderful double clear, they became our final winners of the day.
Small Open Class
1st – Eve Maher and Dunally CoCos Boy
2nd – Emily Stedman and Hector
Thank you to everyone that came and supported. We look forward to hopefully seeing you all again soon. Our next unaffiliated show jumping show is being held on Sunday 24th July. All entries can be made online via Horse Monkey.
