Saturday 13th December
We really couldn’t have asked for a better way to round off the year! 🎉 Our final show of the season was a fantastic send-off, and we want to say a huge thank you to everyone who came along and made it such a memorable day.
A big shout-out to everyone who came in fancy dress — you and your ponies looked absolutely amazing and brought so much fun and colour to the showground. You certainly made it one to remember! 🐴 And a very special mention goes to Sarah Cook, Ellie Norman, Hannah Bridges and Lauren Bennett, who took the honours for best dressed of the day — outstanding effort all round!
We were also blessed with glorious sunshine, which really topped things off and gave us the perfect backdrop for a brilliant end-of-year show. 🌞
There were some truly lovely performances throughout the day:
- Olivia Bedford competed on GFS Phoenix and showed real determination. After a fall in the warm-up, she picked herself up, brushed herself off, and went on to produce two lovely tests. Considering Olivia only loans Phoenix one day a week, this was a fantastic result. This beautiful mare, now 15, is still at the early stages of her dressage career after having four foals in her younger years — there is definitely more to come from her.
- Nicola Noyes took the win in Intro 2 on Bilboa Misty — what a lovely combination to watch.
- Kathry Beldon claimed the win in Prelim 4 with a brilliant 70.00% — a superb test.
- Lisa Bendkowski and Django Direct produced two fantastic tests, scoring 69.5% and 66%. We could hardly believe this was only their fourth ever show — an exciting partnership to keep an eye on!
- Julie Chamberlain took the win in Novice 4 on Tavillain with a great 67.50% — a well-deserved result.
- Abi Moore, beautifully turned out and full of festive cheer, took the win in Novice 5 on Coednewydd Kansas Express with an impressive 70% — a fantastic performance to round off the day, despite the fancy dress mishap mid test!
- And finally, a huge well done to Sarah Cook, who made a fantastic comeback on Skyes Calypso. After a long time off due to injury and rehab, she returned in style, smashing her Novice 5 test with 67.17%.
Thank you once again to everyone who took part, supported, competed, dressed up, and cheered others on. What a wonderful way to close the year — we can’t wait to see what next season brings! ✨
