Once again Saturday 29th May saw good entries for our unaffiliated dressage event and the sun was finally shining! The first class of the day was the Pick Your Own Intro class. This class proved to be very popular amongst our competitors. Shaunna Howard and her horse, Ziggi, were the first competitors of the day to head down the centre line for the first of their two tests. Their second test was going to prove enough to eventually earn them fifth place in the class. It was towards the end of the class that it was the turn of Susan Child and her horse, Broadriver Caledonia. This combination delivered a lovely fluent test to achieve a score of 71.76% and to win the first class of the day.

The next class was Prelim 14, and there was once again a great number of entries coming forward. As the class progressed it was the turn of Susan Child and Broadriver Caledonia to come forward for their second test of the day. Once again, another nicely executed test gave them another fantastic score of 72.12%. The standard of riding was high in this class and it proved it, with the scores in the top six placings being very good indeed, and with Kate Saunders being beaten off the top spot by just over 2%.

Madeline Harker and her lovely horse, Eva, got us underway with the Novice 24 class. As the class progressed, it was then the turn of Juliette Williams and the very smart Thor. This combination delivered a lovely test to give them a score of 65.43% and eventually 6th place. After the break was the turn of Alex Holbrook and the striking horse, What a Feeling. This combination delivered a fantastic test to finish on a score of 70.43%, and after having to sit and wait out for the rest of the class to complete, they became our third winners of the day.

Our final test of the day was the Novice 34 and with only three starters coming forward, we got the class underway. It was Jackie Mitchell and her striking coloured horse, Ballyhoo, who produced a wonderful test to gain a score of 67.86% and take the final victory of the day.
