Speedgate’s Unaffiliated Dressage Results

Sunday 2nd August 2020

Our second event of the 2020 season saw huge entries for our unaffiliated dressage show on Sunday 2nd August. Our Covid-19 restrictions at the events mean that spectators are not permitted on the showground and there is no score board to view. Thank you to everyone for adhering to the restrictions and allowing all riders to be able to compete safely. The weather was again kind to us with a sunny but cooler day.

With such fantastic entries, we decided to start both the Intro and the Prelim classes at the same time. First to go in the PYO Intro class, was Millie Chambers. This class meant that the rider could choose to ride either the Intro A or Intro C test, or both if they wished to. Millie and her horse Todd completed a lovely test to give them a final score of 64.78%. This score was going to be good enough for them to finish in fifth place at the end of the class. Tamsine Owlett was next to go with the lovely pony, Smurf. Once again this partnership delivered a consistent test to gain a score of 65.65% which gained them third place. Tina Hillman-Green and the gorgeous Blakeney Night then produced a wonderful test to gain a score of 78.26%. This score was enough to give them the first victory of the day.

With thirty one starters for this class, the leader board was changing all the time. Tina and Blakeney Night were the first combination to break the 70% barrier in this class.
