Speedgate’s Unaffiliated Dressage Results

Sunday 12th July 2020

Our 2020 event season finally got underway on Sunday 12th July with unaffiliated dressage. With all our Covid-19 measurements in place, it was great to finally welcome competitors back to Speedgate. Restrictions to the events at present means we can have no spectators permitted on to the showground and there is no score board to view, but everyone was just pleased to be able to get out to compete again. The sun was shining, and so it made it the perfect day for competitors to dust off their show jackets.

Katie Owlett and the lovely Cool Echo were our first combination of the day to head down the centre line. Having delivered a fluent test, they scored a wonderful score of 67.0%. This score along with their collectives were good enough to secure them third place in the class.

There was only 0.2% between first and second place, and with the collectives being the same it was very close indeed. But it was Alexandra Woodward and Prevelly Queen that just pipped Mia Kirby and Castlewoods Taloulah to the winning post.

This great partnership delivered a wonderful test to gain a score of 68.95%. Eight more combinations followed on, but no one was going to take the second victory of the day away from them.
