Speedgate’s Unaffiliated Show Jumping Results

Sunday 26th May 2019

The sun was out for our third show jumping show of the season, and once again we had a fantastic turnout of competitors. Riders were keen to continue collecting points towards the Championship titles at the end of the season, as well as trying to qualify for the Sunshine Tour at Hickstead that is later in the year.

It was Sarah Taylor riding First who got the days competition underway with a lovely double clear round, which was enough to give them sixth place. The next double clear to be produced was by Fearne Everson and Farchyns. This partnership not only produced a lovely double clear, but also the fastest time to take the first victory of the season.

It was Chanice Wilson and the consistent Star who once again produced the first double clear of the Novice class. They held the lead for most of the class, but towards the end it was the turn of Grace McCarthy and Spirit. This partnership not only produced a lovely double clear but did so in a time fast enough for them to take the second victory of the day.

The final two classes of the day were the Open classes, and only two combinations managed to gain double clears in the Small Open. The first of the double clears was produced by Caroline Davis and Grandino, but it was the combination of Grace McCarthy and Ruby that became our winners of the Small Open.

With only one combination getting into the jump off in the Open class, the final victory of the day went to Rosabella Camm and and her horse Alana Treble Your Money.
