Sunday 27th October 2019
The rain finally held off for our last show jumping show of the season. It was lovely to see competitors arriving after what had been a dreadful week of consistent rain fall. We started the day with the Intro class, and it was Chloe-Louise Money and the ever consistent Star that got the competition underway with a lovely double clear. Having set the standard of the class, this partnership eventually had to settle for third place, but they were crowned our Intro Champions for 2019. It was Keeley Fry and her horse Barbie who executed a wonderful and quick double clear to take the first victory of the day.
Intro Class
1st Keeley Fry and Barbie
2nd Ruby Whan and Earlzo
3rd Chloe-Louise Money and Star
4th Kiera George and Eric
5th Jamie Mangan and Mr Blue
6th Annie and Susie
The Novice class followed, and it proved to be a case of being fast and accurate in the jump off if you wanted to be in the top six places. The first combination to do this was Chanice Wilson and the lovely Star, but their lead was only short lived as Ruby Whan and the attractive Earlzo stormed home over three seconds faster to take the lead and eventually the second victory of the day.
Novice Class

2nd Kiera George and Eric
3rd Chanice Wilson and Star
4th Charlotte Mitchell and Helmonda
5th Nicola Swinden and Yogi

Next, we had the Intermediate class and with only five competitors getting into the jump off section, there was everything to ride for. Isabella Vargas and her horse Deetwo produced a lovely steady double clear to get the class started. This round was going to prove to be good enough for third place. Gemma Butcher and the lovely Paddy were the next partnership to produce a double clear and to take the lead. It was towards the end of the class that Robyn Willard and her horse, Lisnahall Wishful Thinking, produced a lovely double clear to come home 0.72 seconds faster than Gemma, so winning the Intermediate class.

2nd Gemma Butcher and Paddy
3rd Isabella Vargas and Deetwo
4th Dawn Germaney and Ballynacarrick Rebel Lad

The final class of the day was the Small Open and with no one making it to the jump off, the victory went to Robyn Willard and Lisnahall Wishful Thinking who had an unlucky pole to finish on four faults. We then jumped off the two eight fault combinations for second and third place. Georgia Blewden and Roan Valley Guy were first to go and produced a lovely jump off round to eventually gain second place, with Hilary Fox and her young horse Broadriver Artemis taking the third slot.
