Speedgate’s Unaffiliated Team Dressage Results

Saturday 22nd August 2020

Our Unaffiliated Team Dressage saw an amazing eleven teams come forward to head down the centre line. It was wonderful to see some of our regular teams back out, as well as having some new teams with us for the very first time.

Intro B was the first test of the day and with seventeen riders coming forward, this would mean nine of our teams would gain their first set of scores. Daisy Batchelor and Poppy were the first of our riders to break the seventy percent barrier, and with a wonderful score of 71.52%, they certainly got their team Smiths Farm off to a great start. Vanda Pearce and the very smart Golden Grove Socrates also broke the seventy percent barrier, with a score of 70.43% getting their team Bank Farm Bandits off to a brilliant start.

The Prelim 15 class was equally well subscribed, and all the teams were now off the starter block. Danelle Reynolds and Silver Telling Tales were the first down the centre line in this class. This partnership delivered a great test, in which to finish on a score of 64.40% for their team, Steeles Wood Silver.

The seventy percent barrier was firstly reached in this class by Grace Clearly and Poppy. Their team, Smiths Farm, were now looking very strong indeed. Elizabeth Barr and her horse Diego delivered a wonderful test to finish on a score of 74.00%. This was the first score for the team Lockdown Loonies, and they still had three more riders in this class to follow.

Our highest score of the day came from Jenny Streek and her horse, Roy. This partnership finished on a tremendous score of 75.20%, and this would put the Lockdown Loonies into a very strong lead.

Six riders came forward for the two Novice tests, and it was Debbie Garland and her lovely chestnut horse, Apache, that got the Novice 37A class underway. Claudia Graham was our first rider in the Novice 38 class, and completing her test on Golden Grove Socrates with a score of 63.55% meant that they would guarantee a placing for the Bank Farm Bandits.

The final test of the day was the Elementary 53, and we had just two teams to finish. Alison Prestidge and the handsome Diplomat headed down the centre line with purpose. This solid partnership completed their test on a score of 66.18% and had most certainly helped to put their team, White House Stables, into a very good position.

Now it was all down to adding up the final scores and double checking everything. The top two placings were very close, but finishing on a total score of 217.00, it was the Lockdown Loonies that were crowned our team winners. The team was made up of Becky Williams, Elizabeth Barr, Jenny Streek and Klare Urquhart.
