Over recent month’s, we have seen price increase’s for multiple products – one of which are wood pellets.
Pure Biofuel has recently released a blog to provide an insight into why prices are increasing.
Abstract:
Since February this year, the price of wood pellets has nearly doubled! Even though the price increases are set to slow down, consistent rises in prices coming into the winter will be seen. This is mainly due to the huge cut in pellets and wood material volume in general that was supplying Europe from Belarus, Russia, and Ukraine.
Factories within Europe that have remained open, face rising energy, labor and logistics costs, along with the constant supply/demand equation where they offer product to the highest bidder, either domestically or abroad.
Secondary factor to this is the ever increasing fuel prices. Prices from sea freight to local truck haulage has seen increases over the past couple of months, which in turn contribute to the product price.
