Our annual Unaffiliated Dressage series looks forward to seeing regular and new faces competing for those all important points towards the Championship show at the end of the season. Teams can be made up of three or four riders. The winning team is the one that has the highest combined percentage of their three best rider scores. There will also be placings for individuals in each class, if there are sufficient entries. Entries can be made online via Horse Monkey.

Combined training consists of a dressage test followed by one round of Show Jumping. Your dressage score will be converted into penalties. Any faults incurred in the Show Jumping round will be added to your penalty score. The competitor with the lowest penalty score is the winner.

Competitors who do not wish to Show Jump may enter the dressage phase only. Entries can be made online via Horse Monkey.

Andrew Day Clinics

We are pleased to confirm that Andrew Day will again be holding regular clinics at Speedgate throughout 2020.

Andrew is an international event and dressage rider, as well as a trainer, senior instructor and lecturer of the TTT (Training the Teachers of Tomorrow) with over 20 years experience. Andrew has a great passion for teaching all levels and ages, helping his pupils to attain a thorough understanding of the classical system of Dressage training.

Jo Carroll Agility Clinics

New for 2020, these are fun clinics aimed at all abilities with obstacles that can be tackled either ridden, in-hand or both. Agility gives you the opportunity to improve rider confidence, horse confidence, bombproofing and general bonding time between horse and rider. Each session is one hour long with a maximum of 5 to each group. There will be a fun competition at the end of each session with prizes to be won.

Pippa Doran Side Saddle Clinics

Have you ever wondered what it would feel like to ride your horse side saddle? Once again, this year we can offer you the opportunity to find out with our ‘Have a Go’ Side Saddle clinics. Within these individual sessions you will be introduced to the basics of riding side saddle, and the skills of this elegant art.

Each session is one hour long, and on completion of a pre-session form, Pippa will then bring along the side saddle that will suit each horse and rider. Entries are £48.00 per rider, but spaces will be limited so bookings will only be secured once payment and forms have been received.
